Blogger in Hindi

Apr 27, 2007

I just noticed that I can blog in Hindi as well. This is just amazing. The first typewriter I laid my hands on was a Hindi Typewriter. I can still feel the force it required. On second thought, I would say that high force was intentional (may be a child lock :-)).

So, here I am - back to my mother tongue. When I was in school, I used to write quite many letters for my dad. People came to him for advice on their problems and my dad used to take care of their problems with the power of the pen. He used to escalate the matters to the relevant authorites. As it turned out, the letter was written by me, for at least half of the time. That was an amazing learning ground for me. Believe it or not, that was THE stepping stone of the writer in me. Over the years, the language and the topic changed but the writer in me prevailed. The letters I used to write for my dad used to be the on the societal agendas. That is why I am,till date, interested in these issues, I presume. I can not claim to remember each one of them but as far as my memory goes, they varied from "appealing to open a school in a village" to "probing into claims of the insurance" to "appealing to make road in a village" to what not! Since the letters were usually addressed to the top officials of the district administration, they were invariably written very formally. I remember complaining to my mom about the work we are loaded with and always wished my dad had a secretary but it was worth it after all! I smile at it now!

Let me finish by typing something in Hindi..This is one of the best campaigns I have seen. Am reproducing here:
