Best Practices for Power Point Presentation

After making hundreds of presentations (some of them good, by my standards), I have come up with a to-do list of things and more importantly, an even longer not-to-do list of things.

However, it is always good to know what the experts have to say. Not that everyone who has a webpage built about making a good presentation is an expert though. Beware of internet avatars of powerpoint experts. Giving advice is plain simple. As Mary Schmich put it in the legendary song-speech Sunscreen:

Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.

But trust me on this:

If you have ever worked in GE, chances are that you already have a good history of looking at good presentations (provided your managers and peers were using the GE Corporate guidelines on templates)

Anyway, Listen to these guys....and don't listen to anything else....
